Peter Edwards Peter Edwards - BOVTS
College class is without doubt the biggest reason as to why I am at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School today.

Before I started, I was completely lost and unaware of the strength of mind and character that it would take to get even just a recall at drama school auditions. But thankfully, with a recommendation from a very close friend of mine, I met with Clara and the gang and got started in 2010. Everything about the process was explained and I felt safe as I knew I was among like minded people who we not in it just for personal gain but for each others success also.

It took me 2 years to get in. In my first year, I had many recalls but was deemed not ready by any of the schools at that point. Yes I was disappointed, but the motivation from Clara and Chris to keep going and better myself was immense. I got some life experience outside and inside the class and ended up with 4 offers from various school across the country.

For me, college class is better than any foundation course, as it prides itself
on getting the student into drama school as their main priority, and you know they are never there to just take your money. Clara, Chris and others give their heart and soul each week into giving you every bit of knowledge they have from their experience from the professional world. You will find your auditions pieces growing exponentially every week and learn by seeing your friends grow as well.

Peter graduated in June, signed with a very favourable agent and has already starred in a new play, which sold out at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Royal and garnered huge critical acclaim.

The Actors’ Workshop was an immense help to me. The support and guidance you get from the teachers is so incredibly beneficial and they give you first hand knowledge of what drama schools expect from you and how you need to prepare.

If I hadn't had the help I got from the Actors’ Workshop I would have really struggled to go to auditions feeling confident.

The teachers make you so prepared so you're relaxed and ready on the audition days. The atmosphere at the college class is one of a kind, it's so supportive and it was so lovely to be around friends who were going through the same thing as you - through the highs and lows! I'm also still in contact with most of them!

I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in auditioning for drama school!

Dan Crepsin Dan Crepsin - LAMDA
At fourteen I knew I wanted to be an actor and I knew I wanted to go to drama school. The only problem was that I had no idea about the process of auditioning or the detail and effort that needs to go into applying. Thankfully, I found The Actors’ Workshop where I was surrounded by people who all had the same aspirations. But more importantly, I was able to get guidance, advice, support and care from the teachers at the Workshop, all of whom have been to drama school and know the process inside out.

Thanks to the support and teaching I received at the Workshop I got offers from GSA and LAMDA. I chose LAMDA and am now halfway through my second year. It has undoubtedly been the most tiring, difficult but thoroughly enriching and rewarding year and half of my life. I have worked with some amazing people including many industry professionals and am getting the best possible training for the unbelievably challenging industry I want to go into. I have been trained in so many different skill sets and have done many in-house projects; Modern Scenes, Noel Coward, Greeks, Jacobeans, Chekhov, Restoration, TV and Film and radio to name just a few!

It's an incredibly tough process and a hundred times more tough if you get in. But I get to do the thing I am passionate about on a daily basis and still cannot believe quite how lucky I am.

I started with a dream to pursue what I love and The Actors’ Workshop helped me to get there. I have absolutely no doubt that without them I would have been completely clueless about the process and wouldn't have gained the skills needed in order to get to drama school. I am forever in their debt.

When I was 17 I thought I would be going to university to study drama and history, and never thought drama school would even be a possibility for me.

The Actors’ Workshop gave me the skills and techniques I needed to successfully apply for drama school with confidence. Being taught by Chris, Clara and Dan and Andy was an absolute pleasure and I am still using the skills that I learnt, at drama school today.

I was thrilled to receive places at Arts Ed, Rose Bruford, and LIPA and there is no way I could have done it without the training available to me.

Thank you to everyone at The Actors’ Workshop!

Without The Actors' Workshop I wouldn't be following my dream. The course took my pessimism regarding my path into the industry and within a term made me feel as though I was in control of grasping my dream and that I could make it happen.

The support the tutors provided me with educated me in everything from where to apply, to interview technique, right through to the final audition.

I auditioned for 12 schools, was invited to 9 recall auditions, before being offered a place at my favourite school in the country, the Manchester School of Theatre. Here I am, half way through my first year and I haven't forgotten a word taught to me by Clara and the hard-working tutors at The Actors' Workshop. I can't thank them enough for what they, and the course, have done for me.
